Mezcal

Produced from the rare wild agave Potatorum (Tobalá). Fully matured organically harvested agaves. Produced with double distillation, the result is powerful but balanced, artisanal crafted mezcal. Grown in the center of a wild oak forest and organically harvested, these agaves are imbued with distinctive characteristics.

Intense aromas and flavors originated from combining semi-wild and wild agaves since they are cooked, grinded and fermented together. Produced with double distillation. Aged 1 year in half toasted French oak barrels, resulting in a heavy bodied mezcal with exceptional red-amber colors.

Starts with a superior Joven in keeping with tradition, then the brand is rested in uncharred new oak barrels for slightly less than a year. Great straight, with a less smokey taste than other mezcals.

Traditionally distilled and then placed in stainless steel tanks for more than 30 days, so water can ‘marry’ with the mezcal to produce a soft product with hints of agave flavour and fruit. Ideally consumed straight or in your favourite cocktail.

AKUL® mezcal is the latest member of this family, created to satisfy a growing audience switching from tequila and vodka to mezcal both in the on and off premises. AKUL® is a 40% alc. Vol mezcal smooth, full bodied, rich agave flavor, with a light smokey finish that reminds us the way they are cooked.

Madrecuishe is a monumental agave whose ‘piña’ grows far from the land. Little Tobalá lives among pine trees and oaks, while Arroqueño needs up to 20 years to reach. maturity. This means each agave variety has features that make it unique. There are three varieties of wild agave, each on with its own personality and uniqueness, sharing in AKUL® Madrecuishe-Tobalá-Arroqueño. It is a daring fusion that results in a highly aromatic mezcal with complex flavors which is ideal on its own.

Cirial agave only grows in limited area in Oaxaca which is characterized by arid land and little rain. This unique plant takes between 10 to 12 years to reach its maturity point. AKUL® Cirial is as unique as the agave it comes from. Its aroma and flavor take us back to the semi-arid areas where the plant grows: mineral hints with herbs and a slightly citric flavor.

Tepeztate is agave from the “mountains”. It is wild and can only be found on mountains and cliffs. It not only is hard to get, but it also may take many years to reach maturity. AKUL® Espadín-Tepeztate contains the most traditional agave: wild agave. As a result, we get a strong, exotic, and complex agave. A mezcal that must be drunk with the respect one would drink a sacred beverage.
